I often see presentations that use a lot of different fonts. Is this good or bad? Maybe it's better to choose a couple of fonts and stick to them throughout the presentation?

Too many different fonts will distract attention. I always use two or three fonts. One for headings and one for the main text. This makes it easier to maintain a single style and makes the presentation more understandable. There is a great guide to presentation fonts and here they advise combining contrasting, but still easy to read fonts.
